When I originally moved in and was asked to participate in an "anonymous" survey, I expressed numerous disappointments and my gross dissatisfaction. As a result, I was professionally and rudely confronted by the management.
Fortunately It is simple, look somewhere else and don't make RG an option. This will help them understand that they aren't professionals and the public as well as their residents are no longer interested in their business. They bring the lease up whenever there is a problem so therefore they make us feel like we signed away our souls for however long we made the lease agreement for.
Wow, there are some crazy complaints about rolling green. I haven't seen any of it. I don't live in RG, instead I come in and take care of someone who does. RG has always been very helpful with dealing with and providing for any requests we have made to provide a better living place for a disabled person.
Poorly maintained buildings led to a fire in 2013 which killed a UMass student. Sooo yeah...
All of the students I have seen there have been very quite & respectful (even if they do tend to walk in the middle of the road rather than the sidewalk the management & staff work so hard to maintain).
Don't be fooled by the initial appeal of the kindness the office offers when you're first looking to sign. Once you've signed your lease, it's like you've signed your soul to the devil. In agreement with Jay Clark's review below, the office management will see no end to uncomfortably raising rent values, despite you occupying the same creaky, outdated apartment with old carpeting and layers of paint until they have satisfactorily displaced you and your family. They are eager to profit off the numerous college students who are happy to bunk up together in what is cleaner than most apartments, and thankfully, heat and hot water are included. If, however, you have a grievance to file with the office, like that your neighbor's dog barks incessantly, or that your neighbors trash your patio with beer cans and cigarette butts, or that they stomp around and play loud techno music well into the morning hours despite the fact you have young children that are losing sleep because of it, they'll simply respond that "your neighbors can hear you too" and "that's what happens when you rent an apartment." Fortunately, for most civilized communities in which a customer is investing thousands of dollars, the reaction would not put fault onto the sleep deprived occupants and to offer a solution.
Really my only complaint is that management and the repair guys tend to drive the wrong way around the circle in their little carts or cars.
PLEASE DO NOT SIGN.
I loved this place. As a kid me and my brother would run around the neighborhood with our friends. I made amazing memories there and I can't wait to visit someday.
It would be in Rolling Green's best interest in the very least to invest in quality customer care training and management to provide a happier, healthier community.
PLEASE BE AWARE! This area is not what it said it was. I made the huge mistake to not pay attention to the comments below, now I am paying the price in stress and aggravation because of the management office.
Rolling Green also recently received a multimillion dollar grant from the state to renovate the property, thus, raising rents to absorb costs is hardly the issue at hand. Clearly, families are not desirable, they do not attract students to a community, and students are where large profits can be made in Amherst.
