This hotel is on the center of the UMass campus, a tall cement building right on top of the campus mall. I originally skipped over this listing because I was in the area for a different college, but came back when other places were booked up. I'm glad I did because it is the best of the 4 higher quality hotels I've stayed at in that area, and will come back again. Despite it looking a bit intimidating on the outside, it is very comfy on the inside. The lobby has a gas fireplace and nice seating, with a free and particularly good continental breakfast that has decadent muffins, apple turnovers, a pot of good oatmeal (not instant) with toppings, fresh fruit, and the usual coffee, tea, and juices. The rooms are bright and modern, with very nice bedding and a modern tiled bathroom with a glass shower (no tub). The wall mounted TV is easier to see from bed then most hotels desktop ones. There is also a Keurig coffee maker with good coffee pods. The room was a little smaller then some other hotels, but roomy enough for the two of us. The big window let in good light and has a nice view of the campus. The front desk service was very professional, efficient, and hospitable. They have free cookies and fruit at check-in.
I love the brutalist style of the building, was staying for a recruiting event. Super convenient if you're doing stuff at the University. Only minor issue was the WiFi, it cut out on me a few times. Otherwise great
The check in process went very smoothly and the person helping us at the front desk was super helpful. The room was very clean and neat. I also loved that UMass is environmentally conscious and there are notes around the room about saving water.
The hotel is very clean and nice with great service. Great food options in the area
