I haven't used my ATM card for a couple of years (opened since I was under 18 and was not allowed to have a debit card at B of A), so I needed to open a new account. The staff were helpful and pretty friendly, and tried to accommodate me as much as they could. I did not feel denigrated or looked down upon, and they were all quite professional. I deducted a star because the waiting time was a bit long, and since they had trouble with their credit services, my card will arrive a bit late. But overall, it was a pleasant experience, despite my initial apprehension. I probably had the good portion of the staff :)
The pace of service is glacial. There's never more than one teller despite the fact that there's seven different spaces for them at the main counter, and they take forever to take care of people. Give yourself lots of time if you need their help.
When I was there the first time, I set up an account but was given wrong checks. Several days later, I planned to get a credit card but the woman told me I had already registered for it the last time and asked me to wait. I waited for three months with no credit card or imformation coming. Yesterday, I was there again asking to change my mail address. The woman there asked me to call customer services myself. I called and followed the steps but only to receive repetitive recordings. I looked into the app later--problem solved. I wonder whether the staff has been trained before they got their positions. I am really upset. Maybe I should not ask for more than functioning ATMs.
Very impersonal people at their amherst branch. The other day, I went over to get some info. on automatic check deposits and the lady who receives people told me it's my account, not theirs so I should'nt visit the bank for this. So why charge me for having an account if you cannot even help me out with some simple stuff.
Almost all are inexperienced volunteers, workers working there. visiting is time wasting.
Opened a bank account, told them my adress and where to send it, then they send my credit card to the wrong address, charge me 5 dollars for an other card.
