My coworker and I came every day for lunch when big y added the hot bar, wing bar etc. it was great! Now, a few months later, the food, the silver ware etc is often times empty. Very disappointing as we have only a short time for lunch and can’t wait for things to get replenished. Today, when we tried to check out at the cafe, where there is a big sign. The cashier did not know how to use the scale etc. we were told to go ring up at the front. Again very little time to be away from work. You would think lunch hour and dinner, they would be more prepared for rushes.
If you get as lucky as I did.. Wayne in the deli department. . What a polite man.. if you can sign. .. you'll realize how intelligent he is ... sushi is amazing. . Meat is at a good price .. however ..everyday items really expensive. ..
Ever since all their renovations in Northampton and Hadley, prices are a lot higher and you have to pay for bags, if you forget yours. Trader Joe's is a much better choice, if you want organic and very reasonable prices.
Great variety and selection, especially of global foods. Good gluten-free and organic options too.
I shop here every week. Always super clean! Staff is generally great, very friendly. I think that their sales are very good. I prefer the atmosphere at Big Y much more than Stop & Shop. They have a lot of hot meal options now, everything is very good. My only complaint is that they shut everything down too early, they should keep everything running at least until about an hour prior to closing.
